About the service
Barwon MHDAS provides integrated and recovery oriented mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and drug & alcohol issues, and their families.

About the role
As the Health Information Manager you will provide leadership in the collection, use, evaluation and management of Health Information within MHDAS. This role spans all MHDAS services and will act as a key resource and contact person to ensure adherence to the standards for the management of information relating to MHDAS.
This position will liaise with the Health Information Services Operations Manager as well as the Information Management Operations Manager to ensure compliance with reporting, processes and governance. In collaboration with clinical and administrative managers, this position will also guide the MHDAS administration team in Health Information requirements, processes and governance
About you
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill
- Ability to prepare reports/proposals outlining key issues
- Demonstrated competency with database applications and information systems relevant to health service delivery, such as, but not limited to patient administration systems, digital/scanned record systems, database management, telehealth, electronic medical records
- Understanding of reporting and datasets relevant to health service delivery, such as National Minimum Datasets, policy and funding reporting requirements, morbidity and mortality data collection
- Understanding of legislation relating to Health Information management such as the Health Records Act and Freedom of Information Act
