Your new role:
This position will be responsible for proactively developing, implementing and evaluating Health Promotion strategies in line with the organisational Community Health, Health Promotion plan.
Reporting to the Team Leader - Community Health Promotion, this position will work collaboratively with the broader Counselling & Wellbeing team, other Merri Health teams, community members and external stakeholders to deliver evidence-based Health Promotion initiatives.
Working on the Active Living portfolio, the role will require time to be spent working with community, at community venues like sports clubs whilst working in a hybrid working environment.
You will be responsible for:
Utilise a high level of expertise and autonomy to plan, implement, and evaluate Health Promotion strategies in line with the organisational Community Health - Health Promotion plan. This position will be working on our Active Living portfolio. Activities include:
- needs assessments
- utilising evidence based, best practice frameworks to inform work
- undertaking community and stakeholder engagement
- designing, implementing and utilising planning and evaluation tools and systems
- writing communication materials for different audiences and platforms
- contributing to grant/funding applications and award nominations
- facilitating workshops or training sessions both in person and online
- presenting to small and large groups
- planning and running events
- creating project resources as needed
- participating in sector networks
To succeed in this role you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Health Promotion / Community Development / Public Health or a related field
- Experience planning, implementing and evaluating Health Promotion / community development projects
- The ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders and create/maintain effective partnerships
- Experience in working closely with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, people from migrant backgrounds, LGBTIQA+ communities, marginalised and disadvantaged communities
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrated ability to work innovatively
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Well-developed computer skills demonstrated ability to use common IT programs such as Microsoft Office, Survey Monkey, video conferencing
