About the Role
You will be responsible for providing coaching and support to Coal Mine Workers across all facets of Health & Safety, demonstrating visible leadership and manage the co-ordination of functions such as the Emergency Response Team, whilst facilitating best practice outcomes in relation to risk management and incident investigation. A significant focus of the role is to effectively engage with operational, supervisory and managerial staff to influence a positive safety culture.
Key responsibilities include:
Participate in audit and assurance activities across the site
Facilitate site Risk Assessments and SOP/ SWI development
Site Incident Investigations (ICAM) including quality report writing output
Participate in the H&S Assurance Schedule, Task Observations and Critical Control Management
Compile regular H&S reporting (statutory and internal)
Monitor and support organisational compliance with applicable standards, regulatory and legislative frameworks
Maintain site H&S Software Systems
About you
The successful candidate will be a team player who prioritises safety. You will need to possess a strong understanding of Queensland Coal Mining legislation and its practical application while having demonstrated experience in a similar role.
The successful candidate will maintain the following skills, experience and attributes:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a professional Health and Safety role, preferably within the resources or construction industries
Qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety
S1, S2, S3 & G2 Qualifications
Current Standard 11
Proven experience in the facilitation of site Risk Assessments
ICAM Lead Investigator (or similar) and ability to produce quality report writing
Testing for Alcohol and Drugs of Abuse (desirable)
Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (desirable)
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
Strong analytical skills with a focus and passion on continuous improvement
A team player mentality and willingness to take initiative and problem solve.
