About the Role:
Reporting to the National Operations Manager, this is a dynamic position for a dedicated Health and Safety professional. You will be required to drive site compliance and improvement in health, safety, and Environmental activities across our facilities in Australia. Your primary responsibilities are as follows:
- Chair the business’s WH&S Committee and the National Planet Passionate working group
- Lead and coordinate the development and implementation of the business’s Health, Safety and Planet Passionate (Environmental) initiatives https://www.kingspan.com/group/commitments/planet-passionate
- Monitor and communicate on performance to improve decision making regarding Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and to integrate HSE into business decisions
- Ensure adherence to all company principles, policies and requirements related to Health and Safety and our Planet Passionate goals
- Ensure compliance with HSE-related legal requirements. Develop and sustain a local network (both internal and external, including authorities and industry groups)
- Implement, control, maintain and improve the Factory HSE Management systems including maintaining ISO 45001, ISO14001 and ISO 50001 certifications
- Provide coaching & support to the Senior Management Team, Factory Management Team and Line Managers in order to achieve the Factory's Health, Safety and Planet Passionate objectives
- Ensure that HSE performance data is entered, available, and reported accurately on a weekly/ monthly basis
- Champion the Factory HSE risk assessment program, including assessment, incident investigation, corrective action and auditing, as well as ensuring a focus on Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) and culture
What will make you successful:
You will have Health and Safety Qualifications and be able to demonstrate experience in Health, Safety and Environment areas. You will need to be a facilitator, negotiator and influencer, as you strive to strengthen the site safety culture whilst fostering preventative and proactive Safety and Environmental performance. In addition to the above, the successful candidate will have:
- HSE management experience, including management systems, risk assessment & accident / incident investigation in a manufacturing environment
- Developed capability to understand & influence behaviour in an industrial context
- Developed knowledge of national / state / local legislation & industry codes.
- A formal qualification in Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) or Environment
- Successfully demonstrate ability to manage change, along with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to prioritise work and manage your time
