About the Role:
As the Health Safety and Environment Coordinator at Plantation Homes, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our team members and partners across our home building projects. Working closely with the National HSE Manager, you'll help develop, implement, and uphold our HSE policies and procedures in compliance with the Federal Work Health and Safety Act, Regulations and related legislation.
What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create safe work environments for our team, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Support the delivery and implementation of the HSE management plan to ensure all areas of the business are empowered and enabled to work safely within compliance requirements.
- Take a proactive and collaborative approach to improving our safety culture and outcomes, through regular inspections, risk assessments and training.
- Partner with our valued subcontractors and suppliers to improve the quality and compliance of their Safe Work Method Statements and other important safety documents.
- Report on and address site risks, hazards, and near misses.
- Respond to HSE incidents promptly, assisting in investigation and actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Build your professional toolkit by staying up-to-date with legislative changes and industry best practices.
- Conduct and arrange safety related training sessions including fire safety, first aid and relevant HSE focused topics.
Our Ideal Candidate has:
- Certificate IV OHS / WHS
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a HSE role.
- Experience in the residential construction industry (desirable but not essential).
- Working knowledge of WHS legislation.
- Ability to understand and apply policies and procedures that meet legislative requirements regarding Health, Safety, and Environment.
- Strong influencing skills and ability to build trust with onsite teams.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, predominantly Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
