About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a HSEQ Manager to join our growing People & Culture team. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the HSEQ Manager is responsible for providing HSEQ expertise across all business units in all geographies of TBH.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assuring compliance with legislative requirements and TBH policies, as well as assuring compliance to business processes, practices, programs, and procedures under designed frameworks. This role will also manage TBH’s workers’ compensation portfolio and insurer performance.

TBH holds ISO accreditation for the following standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, with the HSEQ Manager required to hold an understanding of these accreditations.

This role will require you to:

  • Provide advice, guidance, and expertise to Business leaders on HSEQ issues, matters and compliance.
  • Coach and mentor leaders across the organisation at all levels to drive HSEQ skills.
  • Ensure TBH’s certification to all complying HSEQ standards.
  • Design and manage TBH HSEQ policies, processes, and systems and manage the roll out of HSEQ programs.
  • Manage the compliance with all WHS, and environmental legislative requirements, recommend corrective and preventative actions to respond to changes in HSE legislation.
  • Manage any risk management documentation where required, such as SWMS, Work Instructions, Risk Plans or similar.
  • Manage, mentor, and lead the relevant TBH Committees across all geographies; assess capabilities and competencies and ensure the capacity in rolling out the annual internal plans.
  • Ensure investigations across the organisation are handled appropriately, efficiently, and effectively and comply with all necessary standards and reporting.
  • Manage workers compensation claims, reviews, and return to work processes.
  • Ensuring people are appropriately trained and conducting inductions and safety briefings as required.
  • Lead by example and promoting Health, Safety and Environment at every opportunity.

What you'll bring

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following skills and expertise:

  • 5-10 years relevant experience.
  • Work Health and Safety legislation experience across all states and territories.
  • Environment and Quality Management Systems experience.
  • ISO accreditation knowledge, understanding and experience.
  • Leadership skills; able to manage and influence a geographically spread workforce.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to balance competing work priorities, dealing with various work steams.
  • Communication skills (written and oral).
  • Able to interact and engage with all levels.
  • Investigative and reporting skills.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • Return to Work Coordinator certificate.
