- Responsible for implementing Qube's Return to Work program (QubeCare), supporting Qube employees as they recover at work. The remit of this role is primarily Victoria, however there is always plenty of room to grow.
- Regularly consult and liaise with the injured or ill employees, treating medical practitioners, rehabilitation providers and the relevant insurer, ensuring that the employee is progressing and able to return to full duties in a timely manner.
- Advising, promoting and supporting business units for the management of workers' compensation, whilst ensuring the team delivers effective and efficient management of workplace injuries and illnesses
- Management of common law claims and high risk claims in line with the company's insurance policies and relevant legislation
- Work with the GM Health & Wellbeing and workplace risk advisory team on the placement and renewal the Victorian workers compensation program, including submission of wage declarations
- Implement and deliver early intervention strategies to mitigate future workplace risk exposures
- Provide monthly workers compensation reports to the business to identify trends and other workers compensation metrics
- Provide strategic advice to business unit Directors, Managers and employees regarding the injury management system and the necessary documentation
- Provide technical advice and instruction in relation to severe and high cost claims and escalate to business unit Directors and HSE General Manager, were appropriate
- Assist finance teams with workers compensation debtors and payroll
- Supporting business units with the management of non-work related conditions, in line with Qube policies to ensure compliance with state based obligations
- Support for escalations with regards to pre-employment and annual medical assessments, providing advice and assistance with interpretation and outcome of assessments.
- Foster working relationships with business unit Directors, Managers, State Return to Work Co-ordinators and Insurers
- Assist sites with general return to work and injury management queries
- Train and educate managers, supervisors and workers about injury management and return to work processes.
- Working knowledge of Victorian Workers' Compensation Legislation and scheme claims model
- Ability to assist injured workers navigate the workers compensation landscape, including services available within our Report for Support (early intervention) program
- Ability to develop and influence at an individual, business Unit, state and GM management level, to encourage engagement from the operations team on the importance of recovery and to optmise return to work outcomes
- Willingness to chat and build relationships with a range of people from various backgrounds
- Previous experience working in a large complex organisation with strong people management/leadership skills
- Tertiary level qualification in relevant allied health, personal injury, law or business degree desired but not necessarily required
- Relevant state Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordination Certification - Victoria
- Willingness to learn about core Qube operations, including travelling to sites
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Authentic, practical and can-do work ethic
