As a Hearing Support Officer, you will be responsible for supporting Tribunal decision makers and parties during Tribunal proceedings, recording and monitoring of proceedings in accordance with the Recording of Evidence Act 1962, and general administrative tasks including drafting, and issuing tribunal orders and facilitating appearances of parties attending proceedings.Hearing Support Officers may be required to travel within South-East Queensland (same day return), and travel to regional Queensland venues overnight and/or up to two to five nights to support hearings in other court locations.Job details Position status Permanent

Access theSupport Tribunal decision-makers in the hearing room including coordinating attendance of Tribunal users (including using telephone and video conferencing) and managing exhibits during hearings.
- Effectively and efficiently manage the recording and transcription services for QCAT proceedings, in line with responsibilities under the Recording of Evidence Act 1962.
- Effectively and efficiently support the needs of clients and the general public attending proceedings.
- Provide accurate information to registry staff, and Tribunal members in a professional and friendly manner.
- Undertake accurate computer-based processing using QCAT's file management systems and recording programs, including drafting and issuing tribunal orders.
- Prepare and update documents using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Prioritise tasks in a fast paced and high-volume environment to enable the provision of effective Hearing Support services.
- Complete general administrative tasks as required by Team Leaders and/or Manager to support the delivery of services within QCAT.
