Mobile Maintenance Heavy Diesel Fitter

We are looking for a dynamic trade qualified trade qualified Heavy Diesel fitter to join our team. You will be required to fly from Darwin to site on a 15 day on 13 day rest roster.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

• Proactively drive and adhere to company safety policies, practices and procedures in compliance with all relevant legislation including Mines Safety & Inspection Act and regulations, Occupational Heath, Safety & welfare Act.
• Assist in achieving LTI = 0 on this project.
• Identify operational/maintenance problems and suggest solutions to enable production targets to be met.
• Ensure that daily/weekly inspections provided by the maintenance planner of the work areas, plant and equipment are carried out and identify any hazardous conditions, work practices and unsafe systems of work and that they are actioned.
• Deal with any non-compliance with safety rules or regulations in a timely effective manner .

Skills & Experience

The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience:

• Relevant Trade Certificate.
• Relevant restricted tickets.
• Relevant experience with Caterpillar; 777D, 992K, D10T, Haulmax 3900D , Wirtgen 2500, 1255, 1255 Vermeer and Hitachi desirable
• Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision-making skills.
• Basic numeracy and literacy for completion of tally sheets, time sheets and daily check lists.
• Proven high level of professionalism, maturity and candour in daily work ethic.
• Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
• Ability to participate and contribute within a team working environment.

Other requirements

Additional requirements include:

• Must pass a full pre-employment medical prior to commencing employment that takes into account the role requirements, working conditions and the remoteness of the site.
• HR Drivers licence.
• Must be willing and able to report fit for duty at the commencement of each work shift.
• Ability to travel to other offices and sites as required.
