Heavy Vehicle Operator

An exciting opportunity exists for a permanent full time Heavy Vehicle Operator to join our Engineering and Infrastructure Directorate in Moranbah. As part of our Fleet team, this position will report to the Overseer Maintenance and is responsible for the operation and service of plant for construction and maintenance works and the floating of plant and equipment to projects as required (mainly in rural areas). This position may involve staying in Councils mobile camp facilities on job sites or staying in Council fatigue accommodation located within remote areas of Isaac Regional Council.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

• Minimum 12 months’ experience in a similar position
• Experience repairing and maintaining plant/equipment, including basic mechanical and general maintenance duties
• The ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
• An understanding of National Heavy Vehicle Regulations (NHVR)
• Personal initiative, motivation and drive with the demonstrated ability to work autonomously to achieve work outcomes
• A Construction Induction Blue/White Card
• A current ‘HC’ Class Open Australian Drivers Licence

If you are successful, we will give you:

• Salary $65,984.48 per annum, plus allowances
• Nominally 38 hours per week
• 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading
