About the role
We’re hiring a Home Assessing & Technical Development Manager to join our dynamic team at Youi. This position entails supervising the operational activities of assessing teams throughout QLD and NSW, including the desktop assessing team. Moreover, it involves taking charge of the Technical Development aspect of assessing, with some participation in claims.
We seek a candidate with the ability to assess properties, comprehend technical terminology, and develop training scopes for their team. Strong leadership skills are essential for motivating and supporting employees to meet job expectations, with a primary focus on prioritising customer satisfaction and employee well-being.
We emphasise continuous employee support through training, coaching, and development to enhance skills and performance, while staying true to our commitment of ensuring no customer is left behind.
Reporting directly to the Head of Home Claims, this position offers a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from the Sunshine Coast or Brisbane. While our preference is to fill this role in QLD, for the ideal candidate, we are open to considering a hybrid role based in Silverwater NSW.
The role involves planned monthly travel, with the possibility of short notice travel during significant weather events.
Key priorities:
- Foster strong partnerships with procurement and service providers, prioritising performance and customer satisfaction while analysing for improvement opportunities.
- Assist in managing state expenditures, offering feedback, and identifying efficiency opportunities.
- Uphold Youi's commitment to exceptional service, ensuring quality interactions and repairs.
- Ensure high-quality, safe repairs and customer support throughout the claims process.
- Deliver performance reports and improvement plans, contributing to executive discussions.
- Cultivate a positive workplace, recognising and rewarding performance while fostering trust and collaboration.
- Drive staff engagement, implementing initiatives and fostering feedback channels.
- Support individual development through coaching and training, promoting communication with leadership.
- Maintain compliance with assessing practices and administrative tasks, optimising processes.
- Maximise team output by efficiently managing resources and workloads.
About you
- Qualifications in assessing or residential building (preferred).
- Comprehensive knowledge of the home repair industry.
- Understanding of insurance products, contractual legislation, regulatory frameworks, and industry codes across all operational states.
- Proven experience in Home Assessing (8+ years is a general indicator).
- Strong analytical skills and the capacity to generate reports upon request.
- Pragmatic, forward-thinking leadership abilities to manage the impacts of workload pressure on themselves and their team.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, encompassing people-oriented communication, collaboration, and support.
