The Position

  • External Sales / Business Development role focused on new business acquisition in the New South Wales markets.
  • Primarily focused on the penetration of WAGO Automation & Solutions portfolio, with cross responsibility of pulling through our Interconnection & Interface portfolio.
  • Using your local knowledge and sales expertise you will be required to identify market opportunities then develop and implement strategies to grow WAGO sales & market share within the New South Wales region.
  • Identify and participate in marketing, though leadership and networking activities that aid the development and market participation in your region.
  • Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be provided with the autonomy to apply your entrepreneurial skills to grow the business in an agile environment. 
  • Collaborate both with colleagues across the organisation to aid group success.

The successful candidate looks like:

  • Sales & Business Development professional with a consultative approach and quantifiable success. 
  • Solid understanding of building customer value propositions and negotiating mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Have either a Sales or Trade / Engineering background in Electrical, Sensing or Automation products and solutions.
  • Exhibit a technical aptitude and willingness to not only learn but also share and impart knowledge. 
  • Comfortable presenting technical solutions to small or large audiences
  • Communicates effectively with customers and stakeholders at all levels of their organisation.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to develop & implement effective sales strategy that will deliver their monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Collaborative, able to work with land support other local colleagues as well as broadly across the WAGO organisation. 
  • Methodical use of company tools such as SAP CRM Cloud and able to maintain customer records and ensure a funnel of realistic opportunities are managed and updated. 
  • Provide market & competitive feedback to ensure the ongoing growth and support of the product & Solutions in your region.
  • Capacity to work autonomously in an agile environment.

Mandatory requirements

  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Collaborative and approachable personality with aptitude for problem solving.
  • Self-motivated with exceptional organisational and time management skills
  • Flexibility to manage interstate and international travel when required.
  • Permanent Australian resident without any restrictions to work full time.
  • Current Driver’s License & Passport
