We are seeking a skilled and energetic Hospital Scientist who possess a passion for person centred care.Application Instructions:

1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia
2. Bachelor’s degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent qualification in a in a scientific field relevant to the practice of pathology.3. Experience in a cytogenetics/molecular genetics laboratory with a sound knowledge of haematological malignancy.4. Experience with karyotype, FISH and/or microarray techniques desirable.5. Sound understanding of legislation, policies and requirements that impact the laboratory environment including work health and safety and privacy requirements.6. Customer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and clinical and laboratory staff, along with report writing skills, evaluation of scientific data and the ability to effectively communicate policies and procedures.7. Display initiative, problem solving and analytical skills including an ability to apply established principles in a pathology laboratory and investigate and resolve general and complex issues within the laboratory environment.8.
