Situated in the heart of Sydney's CBD in a newly built state-of-the-art corporate building, we provide catering services for Cafes, meeting rooms and events. This role has a Monday-Friday work week, reflecting the hours of a corporate space.
To join our team on this new business expansion, we are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to coordinate deliveries and transport of catering items within our corporate building to our kitchens, storage areas and event spaces.
Main duties include:
- Operational Skills: Coordinate logistical requirements for the catering team for the building with a hands-on approach. This includes early starts to accept morning food deliveries.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the management of inventory, including ordering, storage, and distribution of supplies to ensure we are always event-ready. This includes transport of food which must be kept at appropriate temperatures.
- Vendor Coordination & Relationship Building: Manage relationships with suppliers, vendors and loading dock team to ensure cohesion on service delivery standards and efficient use of the loading dock.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services for all events and other catering requirements.
- Problem-Solving: Address any logistical challenges promptly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Skills/experience required:
- Proven experience in logistics management, preferably in the catering or events industry.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
