About the role
 
The Hospitality Services Manager is responsible for the supervision and coordination of Housekeeping & catering services within Calvary ST Vincent & St Luke’s. You will ensure contemporary, quality and efficient output of meals and food services and ensure the daily needs of Calvary patients are met in relation to housekeeping & Catering Services.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Calvary Launceston is seeking a dedicated & experienced Hospitality Services manager to join our team, managing Hospitality services for both Calvary St Luke’s & St Vincent’s. 
 
This is a permanent Full time position, and offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion to delivery excellent Hospitality Services, to both private hospitals in Launceston.
 
As the Hospitality Services Manager you will be responsible for managing day to day Hospitality Services, which includes:
  • The provision of supervision, mentoring and education of staff regarding practise, documentation content and requirements of Hospitality Services
  • Reviewing, monitoring, and contributing the Hospitality related documentation and training material in line with legislative change
  • Ensure the effective, efficient and quality operation of the catering & housekeeping services, ensuring standards are to the satisfaction of patients, residents and visitors
  • In conjunction with Director of Finance & Corporate services, develop business plans and budget management processes associated with Hospitality Services including operational expenditure and capital expenditure
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of Hospitality Services activity across Calvary Launceston through the application of formal and informal audit processes to confirm evidence of better outcomes and compliance
  • Liaise with key stakeholders about Hospitality Services to ensure Continuous Improvement
  • Understanding the Hospital Standards other relevant legislation and have the ability to make changes that align with them
 
What you bring 
  • Tertiary qualifications in catering/hospitality and/or trade qualifications in Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (Health Competencies)
  • Clear thinker with excellent problem solving skills and ability to convert complex ideas into simple and determine actions to ensure quality outcomes
  • Proven ability in a leadership role with the ability to manage, coach and mentor staff
  • Demonstrated experience in organising hospitality service operations, including managing catering revenue and costs, providing food services & housekeeping services, leading in methods of cookery and in managing catering supplies
  • Previous experience in health/aged care environments would be advantageous

  • Relevant professional qualifications in housekeeping, catering or equivalent experience
  • Proven leadership skills at a management level managing a diverse team
  • Demonstrated professional experience and skills in catering management including menu management, food handling, meal service and food quality and presentation
  • Proven knowledge and application of quality control and internal auditing processes, across housekeeping and catering functions
  • Proven awareness and application of relevant legislation, standards, accreditation requirements, policies and procedures, including demonstration of strong understanding of workplace safety and environment responsibilities; and external auditing obligations
  • Demonstrated capability to coach, mentor, train and develop a service excellence culture and work approach within a team
