PHG has made its foray into the Eastern Seaboard and are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Hotel Manager to lead a dynamic team. We are seeking a Hands-On Hotel Manager – an All-Rounder to look after our apartment hotel in Melbourne CBD, Victoria. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, hands-on individual who is passionate about the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities:
- Must be hands-on and be willing to work in every aspect of the business.
- Must have demonstratable experience.
- Manage a small team of dedicated employees.
- Assist housekeeping when necessary.
- Operate the front desk for reservations, check-ins and check-outs.
- Attend to minor maintenance issues.
- Work with Landlords and Council of Owners on apartment or building issues.
- Work with corporate office to achieve desirable outcomes.
- Oversee day-to-day hotel activities, ensuring smooth check-in and check-out processes.
- Monitor and manage guest service standards to exceed expectations.
- Provide guidance and leadership to front desk staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests promptly and professionally.
- Supervise reservation procedures, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Coordinate with other departments to fulfill guest requests and preferences.
- Schedule and coordinate front desk staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage.
- Willingness to take a hands-on management approach to lead a very lean team.
- Conduct regular audits to maintain the quality and accuracy of front desk operations.
- Creative problem solver with a strong operational understanding and the ability to create a team that works together with trust.
- Implement improvements to enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Supervising the cleaning standard and ensure the hygiene meet the quality.
Your Day to Day
- You will take overall responsibility of the reservations, front office, housekeeping and maintenance aspects covering the day-to-day operations.
- You will have the ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and then execute an agreed plan.
- Communicating with guests daily and providing management with appropriate reports and feedback.
Attributes
- Be a hands-on leader who gets involved and is willing to motivate and support the entire team.
- Knowledge of Newbook PMS system will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Strata Management and Owners Corporation matters would be ideal but not essential.
