Breakaway Toowoomba Inc. (Breakaway) has been providing quality services to people with a disability in the Toowoomba region for over 36 years. We began as a small family-based organisation, providing respite for children with disabilities and have since grown and diversified our organisation to include respite for people of all ages, independent living, community participation, in home support, social groups and NDIS access support, employing over 130 local staff.

About the role
As House Leader, you will focus on developing and maintaining quality support, creating outcomes and increasing client skills; providing a safe and welcoming home for our participants. Key to the role will be your exceptional leadership skills and ability to bring out the best professional qualities within your team to ensure exceptional service delivery.
About You
• You have a professional background in delivering quality service to clients
• Experienced in supporting people with mental health and complex behaviours, adhering to behaviour plans, and knowledge of restrictive practices
• Proficient in performing hazardous manual handling tasks safely; can assess and respond appropriately to various types of risks
• Proficient in administering client medication in accordance with standards and procedures
• Safely perform hazardous manual handling tasks
• Adept at providing personal care with dignity and sensitivity
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the capacity to build a professional team
• Maintain a positive outlook, have emotional resilience and a fun attitude
• Possess exceptional communication and stakeholder relationship building skills
• Have proven time management skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
Qualifications & Requirements
• A capable leader
• Certificate lll or Certificate IV or above in disabilities or equivalent.
• Certificate IV in Mental Health or Disability highly regarded (or equivalent experience)
• Experienced in following Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP)
• Mental Health experience essential
• Blue Card with NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
• Current Driver’s Licence
• CPR/First Aid qualifications.
