Full-time - Fixed-term position
About the role:
We are currently seeking a full-time House Manager to lead a dynamic team, working with young people living in residential care. This role is hands-on and includes time spent working in the home to support workers and young people as well as building community connections. The House Manager will manage the day-to-day operations associated with the delivery of support and care, mentor and supervise staff to maintain quality service and provide a secure base for our young people.
What will a typical day look like?
- Oversee the procurement of goods required for the home.
- Oversee the work of contractors and other external service providers to the home.
- Mentor, supervise and roster a team of Residential Support Workers to provide an exceptional level of care.
- Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with young people and their families to promote positive outcomes.
- Oversee the liveability, homeliness, and safety within the home.
- Respond therapeutically to pain-based behaviours such as aggression, withdrawal, and self-injury.
- Incorporate a holistic care approach, ensuring close collaboration with external stakeholders.
- Facilitate essential connections, such as the connection to culture and country for First Nations young people.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Full COVID-19 Vaccination
- Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services or equivalent.
- Three years relevant experience.
- Hope and Healing Modules (10 modules) completed prior to commencement of employment.
- Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
- Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)
