The JBS Cold Store facility is strategically located in Hemmant near the Brisbane port and employs approximately 140 people. Hemmant receives a high volume of truck and container loads of product from all the JBS sites around Australia, these are then re-loaded for our domestic and international customer’ orders and readied for transport.
About the Role
The JBS Hemmant Cold Stores is currently recruiting an experienced HR Business Partner to join the Operations team in a newly rescoped role. As our HR BP, you will partner with the Cold Stores leadership team to provide generalist HR services which support key business objectives, a high-performance culture and employee engagement. These services include recruitment and selection support, performance management advice, management of investigations, development and implementation of HR policies, procedures and relevant strategic HR initiatives.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Acting as the direct HR point of contact for the Hemmant Cold Stores team for the full employee lifecycle
Coaching, guiding and supporting relevant site leaders
Supporting the implementation of Group and/or Northern strategic HR initiatives
Managing end-to-end recruitment and branding activities including career fairs and community engagement events
Supporting talent and succession activities, including 360 and 9 box processes and calibration sessions
Assisting with the development, review and implementation of HR policies, procedures, guidelines, and templates
Processing employee variations and other employee data changes through SAP and issuing appropriate documentation to employees and payroll
Leading workplace investigations and supporting managers with performance management
Providing HR advice, coaching and support to leaders and team members in a timely and professional manner
Identifying and implementing HR improvement opportunities
Providing advice and support through employee engagement activities, including the completion of engagement action plans
Supporting a positive industrial relations environment
Providing clear and timely instructions to Payroll as required
Collating, analysing and providing recommendations based on HR data e.g. turnover, absenteeism and workers’ compensation
About You
Tertiary qualifications (or as a minimum, Diploma) in HR or related discipline
Demonstrated experience (ideally 5 years) of generalist HR experience
FMCG or other relevant industry experience advantageous
Demonstrated ability in managing varied and conflicting demands to agreed standards and timelines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Strong customer service orientation
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, whilst also being a collaborative team member
Highly proactive, with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency
Excellent attention to detail
Demonstrated computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, and generally technologically savvy
