We are a Civil Construction business with multiple arms with work across Victoria with approx 120 FTE's, requiring an experienced HR/People & Culture Generalist to work closely with Leaders of the Business in all areas of people, performance & Culture reporting into the CEO and based in Bayswater North.
With road construction in our veins with supporting services of traffic management incl a team of Traffic Controllers along with our own Fleet Workshop incl a team of mechanics servicing our own fleet plus a Concrete Plant, Soilyard Reclamation Facility and Transport Cartage this a blended business requiring someone who can oscillate between departments.
This is a full time standalone role, requiring someone who is system savvy (use ELMO HRIS) and can navigate between systems as well as strong in own systems/structure that has been successful working with processes with managers in adding value, providing support whilst getting results in all areas of People, Performance & Culture. You must be strong on identifying and bringing out the right KPI's with managers and supervisors (that may not know how to articulate them) and have extensive experience in setting, driving and embedding KPI's in a business whilst managing the full employee life cycle in each and every department (this can include operational level RDO reduction management).
Areas under your responsibility:
- Recruitment Blue Collar (internal and external ie. promotions/transfers) including pre- employment requirements
- Induction (working with key stakeholders to improve role related training/induction in field, vehicle/plant, safety, financial and more)
- Reward & Recognition - Employee of the Month, Initiatives with Monetary reward for Values, Behaviours, “Above and Beyond” - Safety First Always.
- Communication - Internal and part External (newsletters, surveys, face to face toolboxes, briefings and social media ie. Linked In)
- Risk and Compliance - Keep up to date legislatively in all relevant Awards, Fair Work NES, including Policy & Procedure compliance, Return to Work Legislation; Fit For Work (Role specific including psychological, physical, mental); Licences - role and fleet/plant specific; Position Descriptions - Ensure process in place for Annual Review and support manager in creating new ones/train and guide them on accuracy and key items
- Succession Planning - Future proof the business by having succession planning framework in place - key roles identified and plans in place/underway - 9 Box Matrix
- Performance Measures - assist with setting and drive down KPI's from Snr Management, Performance Objectives, Values & Behaviours and SMART Goal setting - mid year and annual reviews; Managers Training and support for Performance Meetings including PIP's and Disciplinary
- Learning & Development - Commence a Supervisor Development Program; Development Plans in Place, Broader L&D support utilising full L&D Video & Content Library of ELMO
- Remuneration - Manage Annual Increase, set and send out requirements to business leads and manage for CEO signoff; Work closely with CFO on budget requirements, #'s and $ for annual year ahead, changes updated
- Return to Work Co-ordination (RTW Co-ordinator) role in business;
- Work closely with Dept Managers and SHEQ Lead to drive improvements culturally in the business eg. financial connectivity of damage to tools for employees and supervisor in their roles
