Our client who is an absolute giant within the Retail sector, are looking for an HR Business PartnerThis is a role that they want long-term, to grow with the business and take to another level.

This is a critical role in a fast-paced environment, this is a very unique role in the sense that you're the point of contact for everything in your portfolio. You are looking after 9 stores in the Perth CBD/inner suburbs region so you need to be independent and a self-starter!

The Team
Reporting to the National People & Culture Manager, down to earth, full of energy & will support you but expects accountability and transparency. 
  
Most of the HR team is based in the Melbourne Head Office so one thing to keep in mind is that this role is quite autonomous. 

There is also a Risk and Compliance team member of P&C based in Perth.

Where does this role fit in
The purpose of this role is to partner with a regional retail portfolio to build organisational and people capabilities aligned with functional strategy.

You will be looking after 12 stores in total, mostly within the Perth CBD/inner suburbs. 

Key stakeholders are the 2 x Regional Managers and the frontline staff.

Alongside leaders, this role will partner to deliver fit-for-purpose people solutions aligned with business needs aligned with the Omnichannel People Plan through effective stakeholder engagement, effective coaching and decision-making influence with business leaders.

Role responsibilities: 
  • Support and drive cultural change, act as a change agent by identifying opportunities, building relationships, solving business and people problems, and achieving action plans to implement
    change effectively.
  • Delivery of initiatives that are fit for purpose for Retail and aligned to
    enterprise-wide plans.
  • Active safety coaching and visible leadership across Retail, aligned to safety initiatives and intended culture, behaviours and practices. Role model this behaviour and coach both the people team and Leaders.
  • Partner with and support leaders in aligning people to deliver business objectives, with an emphasis on co-creating, brokering and delivering people solutions, strategies and services. 
  • Partner with Leaders to drive a listening culture and develop team engagement plans
    
About you:   

This is a pure HR generalist position, and while this is quite an autonomous role, there is still plenty of support. Anything that needs escalating such as employee relations or workplace relations has dedicated teams to support this.

This is a partnering role. to build relationships, take in the right information and make plans to execute them.   

  • Self-motivated and passionate about delivering commercial HR solutions
  • Strong and pragmatic people partner focused on success through
    courageous coaching, effective relationship building, achievement, and
    accountability
  • Previous Experience in an HR Business Partner role 
  • Experience in change management, talent, and succession, building
    capability and facilitation, coaching (performance, engagement,
    leadership, safety).
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with agility and adaptability
  • Effectively balance reactive today with the future, proactive needs / flex between tactical, operational, and partnering needs locally
  • Leverages insights, intuition, and data to inform people solutions, priorities and initiatives
