 About the role

The People and Culture Division plays a key role in supporting AEMO, a critical infrastructure organisation, and our people to learn, lead and thrive as we navigate the energy future. We support our people to work in an environment that is adaptive, consumer-focused, and commercial.

As HR Protective Security Coordinator, you will be working in collaboration with other P&C Specialist areas and AEMO Divisions, this role provides HR Governance and Security operational support, through business partnerships. The role is a key source of HR security and compliance support based on the organisations policies, procedures, strategies as well as State and Federal legal and regulatory frameworks. This position is a six month fixed term contract.

 What you will be doing

• Review (audit as required) to assess status of systems and processes for HR security, governance compliance in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
• Contribute to the management of National Security Clearances and associated aftercare arrangements as required.
• Ensure correct and secure record keeping of employee information and HR data.
• Learn about and keep updated on the frameworks, legislation and changes relevant to AEMO and our employees.
• Effectively perform pre-employment eligibility and ongoing suitability background checks for personnel and contractors of AEMO within agreed upon timeframes.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of AEMO's alignment with the PSPF and other personnel security policies and procedures.

What you will bring to the role

• Tertiary Qualifications in Business, majoring in Human Resources, or a similar discipline highly regarded.
• Knowledge of the PSPF, specifically the personnel security and governance core requirements.
• Experience in HR compliance administration, delivering reports, and creating communication documents.
• Tenacity, drive and adaptability in understanding the complexity to the fast-moving pace of change.
