About the role
Glen Eira Leisure (GEL) is seeking a highly organised and proactive Safety and Supervision Coordinator to join our team. As the Safety and Supervision Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards of Safety and customer service at Glen Eira Leisure.
This critical role involves coordinating the operations of the reshaped role of Centre Supervisors (currently titled Duty Managers) and Lifeguard team, ensuring that all policies, processes, and procedures are effectively implemented and followed.
The Safety and Supervision Coordinator will be instrumental in delivering high levels of customer service, ensuring Safety and compliance with legislative requirements, and managing the associated budget.

Key Responsibilities
- Team Coordination: Oversee the operations of the Centre Supervisor and Lifeguard teams, ensuring they are well-managed, trained, and equipped to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Policy Implementation: Ensuring all policies, processes, and procedures are effectively implemented and adhered to, fostering a culture of Safety and compliance.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements and industry standards, maintaining a safe environment for both customers and staff.
- Customer Service Excellence: Delivering a high level of customer service by ensuring that Safety and Supervision protocols are consistently applied and that customer interactions are handled professionally and courteously.
- Budget Management: Developing, monitoring, and adhering to budgetary constraints, ensuring efficient use of resources and financial responsibility.

Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated commitment and adherence to organisational values and behaviours.
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or related field OR less formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in a safety focused role.
- Strong Leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Detailed knowledge and skill of the principles and practice of the management and operation of a Leisure Centre, together with the facilities, plant and equipment associated with them.
