About the Opportunity 
A proudly Tasmanian owned and operated Company celebrating its 60th successful year in business.  Working across the civil industry including specialised road surfacing, road line marking and road safety systems across Tasmania, it is considered an industry leader. 
They are seeking a dedicated HR/Payroll Officer to join their Human Resources team. This role is a vital part of our operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of their HR and payroll systems. Your New Role:

As an HR/Payroll Officer, you will be the first point of contact for internal payroll queries providing crucial support across the organisation. This role involves:
  • Payroll Administration: Process weekly and fortnightly payroll, and statutory requirements such as ATO.  superannuation and Tasbuild payments, and ensure compliance with Australian workplace laws.
  • HR Support: Assist in all aspects of human resources administration , including maintaining staff files, managing PPE, and supporting recruitment and selection processes.
  • Safety and Compliance: Actively participate in promoting workplace safety and ensuring compliance with WH&S and environmental legislation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to ongoing improvements in HR systems and processes, striving for excellence in all areas of your work.
About you:
The ideal candidate will possess Certificate IV in Human Resources/Business Administration or equivalent and boasts high-level computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office suite, with Greentree and/or MYOB experience being highly advantageous. You will demonstrate outstanding organisational and time management abilities, consistently meeting deadlines. Additionally, you possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, adept at fostering relationships across all organizational levels. With a natural curiosity and proactive attitude towards continuous improvement, you are poised to thrive in this dynamic role.
