I am currently working exclusively with a South East Queensland construction company that has established itself as a market leader in the construction of commercial and residential projects throughout Queensland. With extensive experience specialising in commercial and residential construction, as well as project management, this represents an excellent chance to broaden your skill set and collaborate with a promising emerging builder. We are looking for an experienced Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Advisor to join our team based on the Gold Coast. Reporting to the Site Manager, as the HSE Advisor, you will support the site through the provision of consultation, advice and delivery of HSE activities that facilitate the Project team to deliver on HSE outcomes.
Your new role
As the HSE Advisor, you will be conducting regular site inspections and identifying any notable risks, then collaborating with the team to implement suitable actions. In this role, you will facilitate training and toolbox talks and coordinate internal and external audits. This involves participating in project meetings and providing guidance and training on systems compliance. You will need experience in coordinating and overseeing incident management practices, as well as assisting in site management activities. This project is a health-related development in an up and coming area of the Gold Coast. This location offers an ideal work-life balance, with a quick drive to the beach and convenient access to both public transport and the M1. What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will require relevant qualifications, including a minimum Cert IV OHS and prior experience in a safety-focused role within the construction industry, preferably within the commercial sector, and proficiency with automated safety management systems. It is essential you have working knowledge of WHS best practice and legislative requirements and can operate as an effective communicator and relationship builder. It is expected our new HSE Advisor has a good understanding of how to drive, develop and maintain safety behaviours in the workplace. Overseeing this project will require prior experience in similar commercial developments and the ability to start asap.
