Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Coordinator to join our client's team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will direct the development, implementation, and monitoring of effective strategies to mitigate risk, ensure the safety of employees, and maintain operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs.
- Conduct safety risk assessments, identify and manage risks, and collaborate on remediation efforts.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Drive safety and environmental planning, testing, analysis, and communication to ensure business continuity.
- Provide tactical HSE advice and guidance, including collaborating with facility managers on safety designs.
- Establish and maintain safety advocacy programs, directing Safety Advocates per the Integrated Safety Model.
- Ensure compliance with governmental safety and environmental regulations and requirements.
- Produce specific risk assessments and liaise with external agencies, such as regulatory bodies and law enforcement, to identify current and emerging risks.
- Facilitate the completion of HSE risk assessments and support the business in proactively identifying, measuring, and monitoring operational risks.
- Lead and participate in HSE committees and contribute to injury management and 'return to work' strategies.
- Facilitate the management of safety assurance processes and maintain awareness of changes to applicable standards and codes of practice.
- Promote and enhance a safety culture, supporting continual improvement in alignment with the Global Health and Safety Strategy.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience
- Understanding of WHS legislation, emergency management, risk management, and compliance.
- Experience with ISO45001, ISO 9001, ISO14001 frameworks.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to deliver best practice outcomes.
- Highly articulate with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in risk management and safety systems.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing effective WHS, Safety, and Risk management systems.
- Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
