About the role
As an NSW HSE Coordinator, you serve as a specialist consultant providing support to Operations Sites, HSE Manager, Quality Function, and the national business as required. Provide support to the line management teams, . Monitor compliance with all applicable government legislation/ regulations/ permits/ approvals/ consents as the minimum requirement for all BOC activities and support and drive sites to achieve improvements, develop compliance programs/systems.
Other key responsibilities will include:
- Define and manage HSE issues within the zone for Operations Sites
- Contribute to a business unit plan to monitor the development, application, interpretation, and communication of applicable legislative requirements for the Region.
- In conjunction with the HSE Manager NSW and HSE Central group, ensure that SHEQ processes and systems are adequately monitored, managed and implemented.Have capability to participate in Process Safety activity including HAZOP, etc.
- Provision of SHEQ training, database management, data collection, and Intelex management and LIDAP as required.
- Provision of specialist professional advice including support for our Safety in BOC programs covering key focus areas, Monitoring of Leading and Lagging Indicators, and Incident Reporting.
- Complete HSE Incident Investigations and Conduct HSE audits as required
- Attain and achieve recognition as a higher authority for hazardous work. The aim is to support and develop NSW Permit to Work compliance programs and act as Permit to Work Issuer and Higher Authority for New South Wales
- Continuously review and improve processes
- Travel is required to support Bulk Sites within NSW and in other Zones. Travel to other zones is infrequent but may be required.
To be considered for this role, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
- At least 3 years of previous HSE experience
- Similar chemical industry or FMCG experience desirable
- A relevant tertiary qualification in science or engineering is preferred
- An HSE qualification or substantial experience working in or closely with an HSE role
- Trained Lead Auditor qualifications (e.g. ISO9000 and/or HSE Lead Auditor) (desirable)
- Ability to obtain an Australian Security Clearance (desirable)
- Trained incident investigator (MORT, Causal Tree, ICAM or equivalent)(desirable)
