Our Communications and Marketing Coordinator is taking parental leave, Council has an opportunity for you to join the Community and Economy team to undertake this role in a temporary capacity until 1 July 2025.
This position is responsible for contributing to Council’s media relations strategy by undertaking the administrative and technical management of media relations, which protect and promote Council’s image in a coordinated and concerted way. You will also deliver information and corporate communications to employees and members of the community through a range of channels which ensure ease of access, clarity and consistency of information and reflect Council’s values.
This role is temporary and based in the Molong office.

Qualifications:
Essential
- Class C driver’s licence.
Desirable
Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent) in related discipline such as Communications, PR, Marketing
Skills & Experience:
- Experience & practical application in relevant area (communications, journalism, media, public relations, community engagement or related field)
- Excellent time management skills.
- A self-starter with ability to achieve position objectives with minimum supervision
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, including Meta Business Suite
- Demonstrated knowledge of internet and associated website set up, ongoing maintenance and presentation.
- Sound understanding and knowledge of MS Office programs, image management software and website content management software.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement media and communication activities and promotion of events.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of local, state and federal government roles and responsibilities.

- This position is graded 9-11 ($1515.12 - 1900.00 gross per week).
