Schlam are seeking a dedicated and experienced HSEQ Coordinator to join our team and champion safety initiatives within our organization.
This role won't confine you to a desk from Monday to Friday. We emphasize field interactions and the need for ad hoc support to our mining operations.

About the role
- Champion safety and drive a culture of safety within Schlam Cru
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards
- Develop strong relationships with operational staff to provide targeted HSEQ support
- Assist with incident investigations using Root Cause Analysis methods
- Provide HSEQ training and inductions to employees, contractors, and visitors
- Assist in driving the Cru risk profile to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP)
- Support the administration of Safety IQ and assist in the development of an accredited Integrated Management System (IMS)
- Deliver field and office-based safety training sessions
- Exposure to a multitude of mine sites across Western Australia

- Certification IV in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Quality Management, or related field.
- Additional certifications in risk management, incident investigation, or emergency response are advantageous.
- First Aid/CPR certification – essential
- C Class driver’s license – essential
- Previous experience in IOS and auditing – highly regarding
- Must be willing to attend site on an ad hoc basis
- National police check – within 3 months
- Health Screening and Injury Management qualifications.
- Strong understanding of HSEQ management systems, standards, and practices.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to HSEQ.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant systems.
- Professional demeanor with strong relationship-building skills.
- Effective time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
