The Opportunity
Our client is a prominent civil contracting company based in Sydney. They specialise in delivering a wide range of civil construction services, including residential and industrial developments, infrastructure projects, and the creation and maintenance of open spaces. With a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and safety, they are seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to join their collaborative team based in the northern suburbs of Sydney.
The role
Reporting to the CEO, the HSEQ Manager will oversee and enhance their HSEQ frameworks, acting as a strategic partner to the leadership team. This role is crucial in developing and executing the HSEQ strategy and providing expert advice, recommendations, and risk mitigation solutions on HSEQ matters.
Responsibilities:
- Establish safety strategy/HSEQ plan
- Cultivate and maintain a positive HSEQ Culture, reduce incidents, and minimise environmental impact
- Consult with leadership team to review, improve and develop safety systems and processes
- Oversee investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
- Work with leaders to undertake incident investigations, identification of root cause and implementation effective solutions
- Monitor and assist with the coordination of Workers Compensation and Injury Management
Requirements:
- Experience advising on WHS within a similar environment (preferably construction)
- Proven ability to influence, coach and engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
- Strong communication skills
- Broad WHS skill set including auditing, risk management, investigations, systems implementation
- Formal qualifications in HSE/WHS (Diploma minimum)
