HR Adviser opportunity
- Approx. $55-$65 per hour plus Super dependent on experience
- Full-time, 3-month contract. Immediate start

Our client, a government department, currently seek a HR Adviser to join them on 3 months contract based in Melbourne CBD. As the HR Adviser, you will provide front-line delivery of generalist Human Resources services, including managing low-risk HR cases, secondments, learning and development coordination, and executive employment. You will champion customer-centric general HR services through expertly responding to people-related queries and identifying improvements to department policies and procedures.
Responsibilities and duties
- Working with Business Partners and Common Corporate Support to provide expert advice across the full suite of general HR services, including recruitment, policies and practices, safety screening, onboarding, induction queries, learning and development coordination and executive employment activities.
- Supporting the preparation of routine HR documentation (such as employee records, onboarding, compensation) and apply HR processes and systems to proactively contribute to the ongoing review, development, and evaluation of the department's HR function to achieve effective, high-quality outcomes.
- Provide quality administrative support to ensure all employee records and changes to employment arrangements are correctly applied for, actioned within required timelines, and recorded accurately on SAP.
- Support Senior HR Advisors and Organisational Effectiveness teams in the delivery of the organisation's learning and development strategy and inclusion plans, through leading the coordination of logistics, and implementation of significant development and diversity initiatives.
- Responding to clients' needs, keeping the client or stakeholder up to date with issues and developments and promptly following through on inquiries, requests and complaints.
- Knowledge and experience in the appropriate interpretation and implementation of relevant legislation, associated regulations, guidelines, awards and agreements, integrated Human Resources management policy and practice preferably with a large and complex organisation.
- Demonstrated understanding of and expertise in the Human Resources Information Management System SAP.
- Demonstrated understanding of and expertise in the HR ticketing systems.
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, business management or a related field will be well regarded.
- HR experience within a Victorian Public Service department or agency highly regarded.
