Job description

Position responsibilities

General HR:

  • Support and advise the Executive Leadership Group on people management issue0s covering legal, compliance and employee wellbeing.
  • Assist to coordinate HR, IR and WHS functions and projects across the organisation including evaluation and reporting.
  • Effectively maintain HR information systems, databases and registers and provide accurate reporting of data to managers and team leaders to inform organisational decisions.
  • Facilitate 24-month review cycle for policies and procedures and their implementation across the organisation.
  • Monitor and triage HR e-mail box.
  • Assist with the maintenance of Operational Intranet pages (when set-up) for internal staff [HR, WHS, Wellbeing] and facilitate avenues of internal communication.
  • Identify and keep management informed on relevant industrial and Human Resources legislative updates.

Recruitment and selection:

  • Create, maintain, and facilitate recruitment and selection activities for teams across the organisation.
  • Upload and maintain internal and external adverts, schedule interviews, prepare applications for interview panels and keep line managers and candidates informed throughout recruitment processes.
  • Develop and maintain staff skills matrix.
  • Maintain and develop position descriptions within 24-month review cycle and assume business owner function of the IDCARE Group personnel records.

Onboarding, offboarding and induction:

  • Maintain onboarding, offboarding and induction paperwork and certifications and ensure personnel records are updated.
  • Facilitate pre-employment screening checks and co-ordinate induction training with the Head of Learning and Development and relevant team leaders and managers.
  • Follow up employees to meet and maintain compliance.

Performance management:

  • Set up, monitor, and follow up six-month probation reviews and annual organisational-wide professional development processes.
  • Support team leaders and managers with the PPR process.
  • Work with the Head of Learning and Development, and relevant team leaders and managers, to identify professional development opportunities for staff that align to their PPRs.
  • Facilitate and advise on performance management and discipline processes.
  • Support organisation-wide, through to team level, performance recognition opportunities and rewards.

Work health, safety and wellbeing:

  • Strong focus to coordinate Work, Health, Safety and Wellbeing compliance in line with relevant Acts, Regulations, and best practice.
  • Undertake Rehabilitation and Return to Work Co-Ordination and Work Health and Safety duties for the organisation.
  • Evaluate and proactively address and implement WHS strategy across the organisation to mitigate risk.
  • Take ownership of the corporate relationship with external employee assistance program providers.
  • Be a positive influence and advocate for a healthy and safe workplace for all by adhering to Work Health and Safety policy, procedures, and practices.

People, culture, safety:

  • Model and drive a culture of respect, optimism, accountability, and resilience in line with the organisation’s values.
  • Model ethical behaviours in line with the Code of Conduct and consistently apply ethical standards to self and others.
  • Work with team leaders and managers to extend support and aide decision-making that recognises particular employee needs and how the IDCARE Group can work to accommodate these within established policies and guidelines.

Student placement program:

  • Liaise with partnered universities regarding the IDCARE Placement Program.
  • Ensure a cross section of students for semester 1, semester 2, and summer break.
  • Ensure relevant paperwork and onboarding processes are followed for placement students.
  • Work with the Head of Learning and Development to provide a truncated induction for placement students.
  • Work with team leaders and managers to establish an appropriate placement program for each student tailored to the business unit they are assigned to.
  • Ensure students meet their placement program requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key university stakeholders.

Administration:

  • Ensure team leaders and managers submit timesheets and leave requests accurately and on time on a fortnightly basis, in accordance with relevant legislation and organisational policy and procedure.
  • Participate in team meetings and organisational planning to promote effective HR processes.
  • Although not responsible for the payroll function, facilitate aspects of payroll and inform accounts team of employee changes in a timely manner.
  • Undertake any other tasks as required.

Key performance indicators

All roles within the IDCARE Group have key performance indicators (KPIs) attached to them.  Your KPIs will be agreed with your supervisor and will be documented in your personal Performance Review Plan which will be reviewed in December and June of each year.

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or comparable qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a busy operational hands-on human resource role for 4-5 years.
  • Experience in all aspects of the people experience, from hiring, onboarding, learning and growth, wellbeing.
  • Experience with partnering with people leaders to create the right conditions for teams to thrive.
  • A reputation as a trusted advisor, with integrity and discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to manage ambiguity with an open mind and positive mindset.
  • Deeply collaborative, knowing that the best outcomes stem from a group effort.
  • Deliver what you promise you will do.
  • Knowledge, experience and understanding in the interpretation and application of relevant legislation, industrial instruments, standards, and best practice compliance.
  • A professional, proactive, flexible and self-motivated approach, demonstrating ability to work to deadlines with competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional approach to dealing with confidential staffing matters.
  • Strong attention to detail with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office suite and a range of digital tools.
  • Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement.
  • Willingness to undergo a Criminal History Background Check.
