We’re thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to join the University of Melbourne as a Human Resources Director for the Faculties of Engineering and Information Technology, as well as Architecture, Building & Planning. Reporting to the newly appointed Chief People Officer, the Human Resources Director (HRD) will play a pivotal role in championing the people strategies and priorities across your stakeholder groups whilst leading a team of HR Business Partners to provide expert guidance on a wide range of HR initiatives.

This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact and drive positive change within a world-class institution!

Collaborating closely with academic and divisional leaders, you'll help shape innovative people-plans that not only support but propel University-wide initiatives forward.

This role requires current valid working rights for Australia.

About you: Your commitment to excellence will shine as you champion best practices in HR, ensuring consistency and alignment across divisions while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Importantly, you'll be a catalyst for growth, providing strategic guidance to senior leaders and HR partners, navigating them through the complexities of an ever-evolving landscape and unlocking their full potential along the way.

You will be an integral part of the collaborative HR leadership team, collectively driving the University’s mission forward. Leading with purpose, you guide and mentor your team, empowering them to excel and deliver exceptional solutions that drive positive outcomes. You'll play a key role in shaping innovative people plans that support university-wide initiatives, ensuring that strategies are not only effective but also aligned with the overarching goals.

Your dedication to excellence will be evident as you champion best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across your portfolio. And as a strategic advisor, you'll provide invaluable guidance to stakeholders, helping them navigate the complexities of The University and empowering them to achieve their full potential within their respective Faculties and business units.

Your collaborative approach and strong interpersonal skills will be essential as you build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels, fostering an environment of cooperation and teamwork.
