Human Resources Generalist

Sideloader Express Transport (SET) was established in 1990 and is a dedicated supplier of international logistics services. 

We are seeking a personable and experienced HR professional to join our team located in Port Adelaide. Working closely with the General Manager and leadership team, you will ensure compliance with human resource standards, and define and promote a healthy workplace culture. 

This is an integral position that will positively impact and support the business. You will have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of Human Resources activities, including recruitment, onboarding, reporting, employee engagement and retention, and professional development/training. The role will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks and strategic duties including: 

• Be the central and first point of contact for all HR queries.
• Coordinate all employee relations functions, including complaint investigations, resolutions and response measures, performance appraisals and performance management, and learning and development opportunities.
• Coordinate personnel recruitment, including pre-screening applicants, interviews, and the job offer process.
• Improve HR procedures, policies, and guidelines in line with state and federal regulations, and maintain accurate data and records.
• Promote a fair and positive culture, by educating and promoting employee compliance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• With support from the leadership team, coordinate programs and initiatives that will enhance employee engagement, well-being, and retention.

What we are looking for:

• Qualifications in Business/Human Resource Management.
• Familiar with and up to date with legislative changes and updates.
• Strong people-focused approach, with the ability to build rapport with employees, leadership team, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
• Effective time management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to balance working independently, working as part of a team, as well as reporting to the leadership team.
• Able to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
• Honest and reliable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as proven. strengths in collaboration, networking, lateral thinking, and problem-solving.
• A high level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Employment Hero is advantageous.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and emotional intelligence.
