Job description

The ICT Manager is responsible for managing the technology infrastructure of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference and its agencies, ensuring the reliability, stability, and security of its information technology platform. This role requires a hands-on approach to technology, strategic planning, and a focus on business processes.

The role

  • Develop and implement the company's IT strategy and technology platform and manage change associated with implementation
  • Oversee the organisations digital and cyber security strategy
  • Ensure the organisation's technology infrastructure is safe, secure, and reliable
  • Manage the IT staff, budget, and vendor relationships
  • Ensure service delivery though: provision of technical support to employees and customers; maintenance of ICT infrastructure; management of applications; induction and training of users
  • Research and evaluate new technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
  • Ensure scalability, security, and optimal performance of infrastructure components.
  • Manage the technology budget, ensuring cost effective utilisation of resources.
  • Implement and enforce information security policies and procedures to safeguard data and systems.
  • Oversee information management and the organisations website
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, such as GDPR or HIPAA or Privacy Act.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field
  • Proven experience in IT management or similar leadership role
  • Strong technical skills in infrastructure, security, and networking
  • Sound understanding of digital and cyber security and ability to increase the cyber security maturity level using Essential 8 Control
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong leadership, project management and change management skills
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, compliance requirements and industry standards
  • Problem solving abilities and a strategic mindset
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Windows operating environment, and the Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative suites of applications
  • An excellent understanding of Joomla and WordPress Content Management Systems (CMS) and a sound working knowledge of HyperText Markup Language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and SQL databases
  • High level of electronic, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • An understanding and willingness to work within the mission and identity of the Catholic Church.
