We are currently seeking applications for an Illegal Dumping Project Officer. This is a temporary, part-time position until March 2025, with the hours of work totalling 48 hours per fortnight.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Undertake investigations of Illegal Dumping incidents, including evidence collection, collation of data, reporting on findings and participation in working groups to ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
- Recommend and/or implement outcomes that reflect compliance with the relevant legislation and highlight opportunities for Council to reduce impacts associated with Illegal Dumping.
- Monitor and act on Illegal Dumping activities through State and Local Government collaboration by conducting routine inspections of known Illegal Dumping hotspot locations, ensuring compliance and/or enforcement actions occur where necessary.
- Provide monthly reports and a final report to the project coordinator on Illegal Dumping and in accordance with requirements of the Illegal Dumping partnership project.
- Develop and implement Illegal Dumping awareness and education campaigns, including presentations with internal and external stakeholders including the community and schools.
- Create and review factsheets, procedures and other documentation relevant to the position.

The applicable salary is to a ceiling of Level 4 ($60,005pa) with the commencing salary dependent upon the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
