About the role
Landgate is seeking a talented technical consultant for the Imagery Systems team within Earth Observation.
As the Imagery Systems Consultant you will:
- Conceptualise technical requirements and develop end-to-end workflows to generate satellite data products that support the emergency management and natural resource management sectors.
- Further develop, test, and maintain existing satellite data processing systems.
- Improve on existing workflows by problem solving technical issues including translating existing codebase to Python and implementing integration testing.
- Contribute to building specialist technical expertise within their team.
- Work collaboratively with diverse team members, including scientists and technical experts from external agencies.
Ideally you will have experience in:
- Python and some exposure to another programming language (e.g., C, C++, Java).
- Source code versioning using appropriate versioning tools (e.g., Git, SVN, Mercurial).
- Image processing software (e.g., ERDAS ER-Mapper or IMAGINE, ArcGIS or QGIS).
- Cloud computing experience (e.g., AWS, Google, or Azure).
- Satellite remote sensing with an interest in either the emergency management, agricultural or natural resource management sectors.
