About the role
The Public Health Nurse - School Immunisation will be responsible for provision and administration of vaccines within vaccination clinics in High Schools located in areas covered by Sydney Local Health District, as part of the NSW Health Adolescent School Vaccination Program and according to protocols developed by Health Protection NSW for the Adolescent School Vaccination Program and other related activities.
The Immunisation Nurses will also be responsible for administration of other vaccinations such as influenza on an annual basis or as required by Sydney Local Health District.
We are looking for someone who has...
- A current nursing registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation (AHPRA).
- Experience and certification as an authorised nurse immuniser.
- Knowledge and ability to provide immunisation within the NSW Adolescent School Based immunisation Program and relevant protocols and immunisation schedules.
- A current NSW Driver's Licence (P2 Licence Acceptable).

About working for SLHD
This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy .
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
