The Role:Reporting directly to the Country Manager, the Import Customer Service / Operations role will oversee all import transport services for LCL and FCL shipments, managing the entire import process from start to finish. You will collaborate closely with Carriers, Service Providers, and Overseas Partners.
This position demands strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to make quick decisions to ensure continuous customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing POs: Placing orders with agents and setting up new orders.
- Developing and nurturing strong stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.
- Coordinating customer bookings, documentation, cartage, customs reporting, and invoicing.
- Providing weekly reports on current status, opportunities, threats, and profitability, including job closures and notifying team leaders/account managers of non-profitable areas.
- Managing and updating all quotations in the database.
- Identifying and implementing improvements, such as annual packing declarations.
You will have:
- Proven experience as an Import Freight Forwarder with a focus on Customer Service.
- Proficiency in CargoWiseOne.
- Strong Customer Service skills with experience in handling end-to-end client queries.
- Personable, energetic, communicative, organized, and time-efficient.
- Ability to perform end-to-end import operations services.
- High accuracy and ability to prioritise workload under pressure.
- Excellent relationship-building skills, capable of working independently or as part of a team.
- Desire to be part of and appreciation for the challenges and rewards of a growing business.
