The Role
In this newly created role, we seek a talented Contracts Lawyer with confidence in providing high-level IT Contracts Management legal advice. Your responsibilities include:
- Providing analysis, advice and recommendations to decision makers/delegates on ICT related procurement and contracting matters;
- Reviewing and drafting contracts with regard to ongoing maintenance, support and licence renewal provisions and ensuring contract management documents for all major contracts are in place and maintained;
- Working with customer managers to establish appropriate contracts for their customers;
- Developing, implementing and refining templates and processes for contract management and procurement activities in relation to ICT service contracts;
- Providing advice on legal and regulatory issues as they become known or at risk to the organisation within the Contract Management processes and assist in provision of advice on new or more complex legal and regulatory issues in consultation with external counsel, if required;
- Negotiate and draft recommended changes to organisational standard form contracts for continuous compliance; and
- Identify, escalate and seek guidance on significant risks to executives or external counsel, when and if required.
About You
The ideal candidates will be commercially astute and have a minimum of 3 years PAE with proven experience in commercial contracts management and negotiation. In addition, you will also possess the following:
- IT / ICT or Tech Legal Experience will be highly regarded and preferred;
- Demonstrated ability to provide impartial and forthright advice, challenge important issues constructively, persist and focus on achieving objectives even in difficult circumstances;
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively;
- Ability to confidently present messages in a clear, concise and articulate manner;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate persuasively with stakeholders and advise clients and senior management on procurement planning, sourcing and contract management strategies; and
- Motivated, pro-active and self-managing.
