In-House Legal Counsel

Are you an experienced In-house Legal Counsel looking for a new challenge with Australia’s premier importer and wholesaler of automotive glass products? 

National Auto Glass Supplies is a market leader in the Automotive Glass Industry and has a strong operational presence across Australia and New Zealand. An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced In-house Legal Counsel to join our team on a full-time basis, working out of our Head Office in Riverwood, Sydney.

Role Overview

As our In-house Legal Counsel, you will provide expert legal advice and support to our organisation across a wide range of legal matters. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that our business operations are conducted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations while mitigating legal risks.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Providing accurate, relevant and timely advice across a variety of legal topics (consumer law, employment law, commercial contracts, WHS, privacy, property, construction). 
• Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and solidifying contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights and responsibilities are met
• Developing, monitoring and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations 
• Supporting the HR Department with employment law and industrial relations matters
• Representing NAGS in legal proceedings and mediations, in conjunction with external Legal Counsel when/as required
• Managing and mitigating legal risks by offering proactive advice and implementing company policies and procedures
• Monitoring legislative updates and liaising with regulatory bodies if/when required

Your Qualifications

Successful candidates will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

• An unrestricted Australian Legal Practicing Certificate 
• Minimum 4+ years PQE working across general commercial matters (law firm or in-house)
• Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, decision making and negotiation skills
• Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to work with staff from all levels to achieve desired outcomes
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to manage and influence diverse colleagues.
• Exceptional organisational and time management skills
• Demonstrated ability to exercise confidentiality, high level judgement and discretion 
• The ability to work in a highly autonomous role
