Grain Producers SA (GPSA) is seeking an experienced and dedicated individual to join its Board of Directors as an Independent Director.
Role and Responsibilities:
As an Independent Director, you will play a crucial role in providing strategic guidance and oversight to GPSA, ensuring its continued success and adherence to best governance practices. Key responsibilities include:
- Participating actively in Board meetings, discussions, and decision-making processes.
- Providing independent and objective judgment on matters relating to GPSA’s operations, financial management, and strategic direction.
- Collaborating with fellow Directors and executive leadership to develop and implement policies, initiatives, and long-term plans.
- Monitoring financial performance, risk management strategies, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Representing the interests of stakeholders, including members, industry partners, and the broader agricultural community.
- Contributing expertise, insights, and networks to support GPSA's mission and objectives.
- Upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability in all Board activities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A background in accounting, finance, and/or compliance with a recognised qualification in the field (e.g., CPA, CA, CFA).
- Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) (or be willing to undertake)
- Proven experience serving on corporate boards
- Demonstrated understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting principles.
- Demonstrated understanding of legal and compliance principles
- Familiarity with governance frameworks, regulatory standards, and risk management practices.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and facilitate constructive discussions.
- A commitment to ethical leadership, diversity, and inclusion.
- Experience in the agriculture industry is preferred but not essential.
