Lakes Automation Pty Ltd is a small electrical contracting business that has been operating for 9 years. We specialise in the food industry to provide turn key solutions to our customers. We provide services for machine upgrades (PLC/VFD machine automation), safety system review (TUV), machine vision (industrial camera's) solutions, control cabinet design/assembly and process control flow design and commissioning.
About the role
This role based from our Tingalpa workshop will see to undertake a variety of tasks including but not limited to;
- Install field wiring and termination of motors, sensors and smart devices,
- Shift cover for client electricians,
- Programming of VFD's, motor control devices, sensors and other devices.
- Design and build small control panels for basic machine automation,
- Attend to breakdowns at client sites,
- Commissioning of small projects in conjunction with other team members,
- Provide advice/skills/knowledge on possible solutions and legal requirements based on your electrical background.
- This role is based on 38 hours a week from Monday through to Friday. The days off may be negotiated depending on personal circumstances of the potential successful candidate. Overtime is generally available most weeks with weekend work a part of our customers requirements to complete works.

Skills and experience
To meet the challenges that this rewarding role may bring you, we would recommend that you have or able to learn the following;
- Have a minimum of 5 years post trade in the Industrial sector, food and beverage preferred.
- Positive outlook with attitude and self-appearance to represent our company,
- Be confident and polite to customers and affiliate contractors.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision,
- Have advanced skills with Microsoft Office,
- Advanced understanding of VFD/PLC and sensor wiring practices, with the ability to fault find these systems,
- Understand electrical, mechanical, pneaumatic and instrumentation drawings with the ability to mark-up drawings for CAD updating.
- A/B and/or Siemens fault finding or the ability to learn these platforms,
- Qld electrical licence (electrical fitter mechanic)
- Manual drivers' licence (essential),
- EWP boom and scissor licence,
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test,
- Ability to obtain or already have Q Fever immunisation,
