KEY DUTIES
- Investigates and reviews the utilisation of personnel, facilities, equipment and materials
- Review current operational processes and established practices, to recommend improvement in the efficiency of operations in a variety of commercial, industrial and production environments
- Lead the design, installation, and optimization of scraper systems for conveyor belts, focusing on maximising efficiency and minimizing downtime.
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on scraper systems, ensuring they are operating at peak performance and adhering to safety standards.
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive maintenance schedule for all scraper components, including blades, arms, modules, tensioning and alignment systems.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate scraper systems seamlessly into existing conveyor infrastructure, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows.
REQUIREMENTS
- Have proven previous experience within a similar role
- Relevant qualifications in Industrial Engineering
- Experience and knowledge in materials handling conveyor belt systems and associated components such as belt cleaners’ maintenance, shirting systems and belt tracking, highly regarded
- Have an engineering aptitude
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think outside the square
