About Your Role:
Reporting to the Industrial Relations General Manager, the Industrial Relations Advisor's role is responsible for:
- Acting as a trusted business partner to key stakeholders (operational leaders and the Human Resources team), providing expert IR/ER advice, including facilitating dispute resolution to achieve business objectives, interpreting/advising on the Fair Work Act, offering disciplinary action advice, providing guidance on redundancy/termination obligations, and interpreting policies/enterprise agreements.
- Leading enterprise bargaining processes
- Plan and conduct enterprise agreement negotiations, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Act as an advocate and representative for Downer in dealings with the Fair Work Commission and other relevant tribunals and authorities.
About You What we're looking for:
The successful candidate for this role will hold or demonstrate:
Tertiary qualification in business, law, HR, IR or relevant field.
2+ years IR experience, in the mining, oil and gas, construction, manufacturing or a related industry
We would also consider candidates with IR experience / responsibilities from a different specialty (e.g. HR / legal background)
Strong stakeholder relationships building skills; ability to build quickly and confidently, in a fast-paced complex project-based environment.
Proficient knowledge of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and experience managing complex enterprise agreement negotiations.
Proven ability interpreting industrial instruments, legislative obligations, contracts of employment, company policies and associated documents.
