The Defence Teaming Centre (DTC) develops and promotes Australia’s defence industry to meet the needs of the sector through targeted programs, events and introductions.
Our mission is to grow and scale Australia's defence Industry sector and we are looking for someone new to join our vibrant and talented team as the Industry Development Project Assistant.
Working at the DTC is fast-paced and rewarding. Our small team includes veterans, interns and indigenous staff who share a passion for connecting, developing and supporting Australia’s defence industry.
About the Role
The Industry Development Project Assistant will support the growth and delivery of DTC’s defence industry related development programs. The role will work closely with the Head of Industry Development to assist in the successful running and maintenance of the Defence Industry Leadership Program and any future Industry Development programs and initiatives.
The role will co-ordinate with the Head of Events & Promotions and Head of Marketing & Communications to schedule, promote and deliver workshops in a manner that maximises DTC member participation.
Responsibilities & Duties
Reporting to the Head of Industry Development, this role is responsible for:
- Performing administrative duties and tasks related to the co-ordination and execution of workshops, meetings, webinars and other initiatives as required.
- Coordinating a variety of administrative processes including email communication, maintaining contact lists and files, developing and distributing agendas and minutes, document management, report writing, follow up of invoices and contracts, and other general administration.
- Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of project documents, reports, and presentations.
- Organising and maintaining project files and databases.
- Scheduling, coordinating and supporting workshops, events and other project activities.
- Assisting in collecting, analysing and collating data and information for reports.
- Preparation of content for social media.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Business Administration or similar.
- Eligibility for Australian government baseline security clearance.
Experience
- Demonstrated project support and administrative experience.
- Demonstrated experience working in a team environment.
- Familiarity with social media.
Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and able to communicate clearly and accurately with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient organisation, record keeping and administrative skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and demonstrated ability to provide a consistent high level of service in a timely manner.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities and exercise judgement and initiative to resolve issues.
- Proven ability to work both independently and in a team environment to build collaborative relationships with defence industry and colleagues to achieve optimal business outcomes.
- Highly proficient in MS-Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook and Teams) and CRM Databases.
