About the Business Unit:At Corrections Victoria, our purpose is to deliver effective correctional services for a safe community.Located at Maldon, Tarrengower Prison is a Minimum-Security Prison for women. The focus of Tarrengower prison is rehabilitation via individual case management, employment, education, training and also the provision of programs and targeted interventions to address offending behaviour and promote the development of prosocial behaviour. Tarrengower prison provides contemporary and quality correctional services that prepare prisoners for transition and reintegration.Tarrengower works within the Victorian women's prison system and aims to deliver gender-responsive, trauma-informed case management practice. This involves working in a multi-disciplinary team environment with other professionals. Prison staff model and reinforce behaviour and thinking that assists the individual prisoner's ability to change their behaviour and contribute in a positive manner to the community upon release.Tarrengower Prison requires the services of a Maintenance Officer with a sound knowledge of maintenance services and requirements, engagement of contractors, support and compliance with OH&S Policies and Regulations as required to work within the guidelines of the Department of Justice and community safety
About the Role:As a Maintenance Officer for Tarremngower Prison, some of your duties will include:
- Supervising and controling prisoner workers employed in the maintenance area
- In collaboration with the Facility Manager, being responsible for the efficient and effective management of the maintenance of the Prison
- Providing maintenance support to the prison facility, including diagnostic advice regarding buildings, facilities, plant, and equipment across the site.

About You:As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Computer Skills - Effectively use departmental computer systems for basic word processing, email, appointment scheduling, and internet and intranet functions
- Equipment/Infrastructure Maintenance - Performing routine maintenance on equipment or infrastructure and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
- Good knowledge and understanding of OH&S.
Qualifications/Requirements:- Completion of the Prison Officer Pre-service Training.
- Prior to commencement you will be required to obtain a current Statement of Attainment for the First Aid unit HLTAIDOO3 Provide First Aid.
