Our pathology services cover the broadest range of routine, complex and rare tests, and our active teaching, research and pathology development programs assist not only in enhancing diagnostic accuracy but also in improving the understanding of disease processes and of clinical care.About the role: We are seeking a suitably experienced candidate to join our Work Health and Safety team at PathWest.As an Infection Prevention and Management Consultant, you will provide a comprehensive Infection Prevention and Management (IP&M) consultancy service to PathWest.Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate the PathWest occupational exposure management programme including risk assessment and follow up as per PathWest policies and protocols.
- Maintain appropriate Infection Prevention and Management (IP&M) protocols and practices including support service following Blood and Body Substance Exposure (BBSE) in accordance with PathWest protocols, Health Department Operational Directives & Policy Framework and in close collaboration with the organisation’s Microbiology Department and Consultant Pathologists.
- Undertake the relevant sections of Pre-Employment Health Assessments (PEHA) and Fitness for Work (FFW) Assessments, and coordinate worker vaccination/immunisation programmes in line with the Health Service Provider (HSP) wide approach and Health Department Operational Directives.
