About the role
We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Right to Information and Privacy Contact Officer for the City.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing formal and informal information access applications, coordinating the publication of open-access information, and ensuring the City's compliance with reporting requirements under the GIPA Act and GIPA Regulation.
You will play a crucial role in staying updated with the latest information regarding the implementation of the GIPA Act, PPIP Act and the HRIP Act. Acting as the primary point of contact for all privacy-related matters within the City, monitor and review the City's handling of personal information across various platforms, and provide essential support to City staff on their obligations related to information access and Privacy legislation.
We are seeking an individual who is detail-oriented, possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and has a comprehensive understanding of the laws and regulations pertaining to information access and Privacy. About you?
We are seeking a candidate with the below qualifications and experience.
- Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent qualification as well as demonstrated relevant experience.
- Extensive knowledge of both the Government Information (Public Access) Act and the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act.
- Sound knowledge of the Local Government Act and other legislation that relates to the access to, and management of information held by the City.
- Current Class C Drivers Licence.
What's on offer?
- Starting salary $82,000 per annum + Superannuation
- Permanent Full Time 35 hours per week
- Options to accrue flex time and flexible working arrangements.
