Information Security Officer

Position Summary:

The Information Security Officer (APAC) is the primary point of contact between our APAC business unit and the global Trust and Security team. You will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining a robust security posture across the region, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our critical data and systems. In this role, you will partner closely with the leadership throughout the APAC region and with corporate Trust and Security leadership.

This position is based in Brisbane, AU.

Essential Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):

• Partner with APAC leadership to understand business needs and translate them into actionable security requirements.
• Partner with the corporate Trust and Security team to understand security and compliance requirements and ensure they are appropriately implemented in APAC.
• Work with Security Operations to ensure technical controls are deployed throughout the region, and appropriate systems are included in centralised monitoring.
• Partner with GRC to ensure risk within APAC is recognised and managed, and that applicable standards and laws are complied with.
• Stay connected with APAC leadership to ensure awareness of upcoming priorities, so we can ensure security is integrated in them from the start.
• Coordinate with the corporate security team on incident response, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management activities.
• Educate and train APAC employees on security best practices and policies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the APAC region.
• Stay abreast of emerging threats and vulnerabilities specific to the APAC market.

Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

• Experience working in a fast-paced tech environment.
• 5+ years of experience as a manager or senior individual contributor in Information Security, with a proven track record of success in a business-oriented role.
• In-depth knowledge of security best practices, frameworks, and methodologies (NIST, CISSP, etc.).
• Strong understanding of the APAC market and its unique cybersecurity challenges.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to influence and build consensus across diverse stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results on time and within budget.
• A self-directed individual who can lead projects.
• Must be customer service oriented and work well in a team and encourage collaboration across all teams.
• Demonstrate a technical knowledge of network topology, operating systems, protocols, and system integration, Network Security, Problem Solving, Information Security Policies, Network Troubleshooting, Firewall Administration, Network Protocols, Routers, Hubs, and Switches.
